August Medal
Division 1 - On a day of near perfect scoring conditions with the course presented superbly the quality of scores returned were amazing with Mark Hynes' best gross score of 69 [nett 64] only good enough for second place as Scott Gilmour scored gross 72 [nett 64] for a two shot winning margin. Paul Berry took third place courtesy a nett 67 with Mal Hills' nett 68 gave him 4th place helped by a 2 on the 12th hole!
Division 2 - Richard Talbot led the way in division two thanks to an excellent nett 66 [gross 79] with Daniel Kingshott in second place one shot further back. Pete Macey claimed third with a nett 68. Richard's victory was reward for all the hard work he has been putting in on the range to rectify a few, small grip issues. Keep up the good work.
Division 3 - Callum Neate is a name that might not be familar to you yet, but trust me, it will be! Callum is making great strides with his golf and his winning score of nett 67 came as little surprise to those of us who know him. In a three way tie in second place on nett 68 were Richard Webber, Paul Fawcett and Lee Elliott.
A lighter note
I have been sworn to secrecy but I thought this might amuse you. A customer came into the shop this week and handed me his broken 8 iron simultaneously asking what golf bags I recommended. On enquiring how he broke his 8 iron I was informed he did it after running over his golf bag that was left on the floor of his garage by his wife! As I said I am sworn to secrecy but I can inform you that the customer did indeed purchase a new bag and that the broken club should be repaired in time for him to use it in HIS competition the weekend! OOPS!
