ON THE COURSE - RAFA CUP

A strong easterly breeze and hard ground conditions made good scoring difficult on both days of this year's RAFA Cup.

SATURDAY

Martin Lye claimed 1st prize thanks to an excellent 41 points giving him a 3 point winning margin from Vic Mandryko, Martin Taylor and Pat Bollen tied in 2nd on 38 points with Nick Hall, Scott Brown and Stuart Grierson sharing 5th place on 36 points.

SUNDAY

Another good round from Scott Brown of 40 points gave him 1st place with a 2 point margin over Steve Marriott with a 3 way tie in 3rd place between Logan Ross, Steve Abbott and Ken Owens after all 3 returned 36 points.

JUNIOR COACHING

Lots of Juniors battled similar conditions for the first "Academy Course Competition" of the year. Some terrific shots played by the youngsters with a dramatic finish to both groups, Jamie Crawford winning Group 1 by 1 shot and Calan Gilmour narrowly winning group 2 after Emily Grimshaw pushed him all the way to the final putt on the final hole. Well done to all those who took part !!

GOLF MONTH

As one of only a few "Get into Golf Centres" in the area, Kingsdown will once again be running some FREE taster sessions throughout May. These sessions are aimed at getting new people into golf who have not played before and will take place on our driving range each Saturday in May from 10.00-11.00 and 11.30-12.30. If you know of anyone who might like to come and try our great game please bring them along at any of these times.
