All roads lead to Paris…

The finale of the Made in Denmark tournament was an all-English affair, with a four-way play-off between Lee Westwood, Jonathan ‘Jigger’ Thomson, Steven Brown and eventual winner Matt Wallace. The tournament was played at the home course of Ryder Cup Captain, Thomas Bjorn, and the event has become a firm favourite with both players and fans alike. Due to the European Tour tournament rescheduling that will take place next year, the Made in Denmark will move to the week of BMW PGA at Wentworth and hopes to attract even more big names.

The automatic picks for Europe’s Ryder Cup team were also decided in Denmark, but I’m sure you are all now talking about the Captain’s wildcard picks that took place on Wednesday. The American team still have one pick remaining with the finale of the FedExCup unfolding over the next few weeks and all eyes on East Lake for the next 10-million-dollar man!

How do they make it look so easy?

This year's Open Championship venue, Carnoustie, was guarded by plenty of deep, nasty bunkers to try and trip the players up. Many club golfers dread finding the sand, yet the pros made hitting it close look so easy. So, how do they do it?

It's easier than you think
We come across many golfers in lessons that are confused about how much sand to take, both in terms of length and depth, which often results in thins over the green or duffs that stay in the bunker.

During a lesson we can teach you the perfect technique step-by-step, which involves taking a consistent amount of sand – roughly the length of a bank note - so that you always have the same sized divot around the ball, which makes it far easier to control your distance. Once your divot size is consistent, we can show you a few techniques to hit different distances to get the ball close to various pin positions.
