Despite some very tough conditions for this seasons first monthly some of the 90 competitors still managed some excellent scores.
Division 1. An outstanding round of gross 69 [nett 67] was good enough to give Mark Hynes 1st place in both the gross and nett categories in Division 1. Given the conditions there might not be a better round played at Kingsdown this year! In second place with nett 69 was Tony Fitzgerald with Rick Smart 2 shots further back in 3rd.
Division 2. The consistent Steve Marriott took 1st place courtesy of his nett 69 with David Ghent (who must be ruing his poor finish) one shot further back in 2nd. Ties on nett 73 were Matt Smith, Graham Willis, Dominic O'Connor and Don Gilbert.
Division 3. 1st place in Division 3 went to junior member Jake Meredith who returned an excellent nett 69 giving him a 2 shot winning margin over Paul Smith and recently joined Jim Guinea. It is great to see some of the junior members beginning to establish themselves in the competitions with Jake more than making up for his lack of height with some real determination. Well done Jake!
With the continued growth and popularity of the both the Junior Section and the Sunday afternoon coaching sessions the current junior organiser Colin Sawyer, would be grateful for any help with running the section and events. Anyone who might be able to offer any support should contact Colin directly. All help would be appreciated.
